WHOOP UCI MTB World Cup La Thuile 2026

Description

After its incredible debut in 2025, La Thuile returns to the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series with an even bigger challenge — four disciplines in one mountain destination: Downhill, Enduro, Cross-country Olympic and Short Track. La Thuile is one of the few venues in the entire calendar to host all four formats — and the only one where every race, paddock, lift, and fan zone are gathered in a single, walkable event hub.

Set in the heart of the Italian Alps, surrounded by giants like Mont Blanc and the Rutor Glacier, La Thuile offers a breathtaking natural stage where racing meets pure alpine energy. The village lies at the meeting point of two mountain streams — a place where you can feel nature’s power all around you.

Spectators will find everything within walking distance: race paddocks, fan zones, lifts, food court, beer garden, and the start and finish areas of every race. Just park your car once — and enjoy the show all day long — and well into the night. Two fast lifts, Bosco Express and Chalet Express, are open to the public, connecting directly to the race courses and to two high-altitude chalets where you can lunch with an unbeatable view of the tracks.

Expect a weekend of non-stop racing and alpine atmosphere. The Downhill course — steep, raw, and spectacular — runs alongside a pedestrian trail, allowing fans to follow the action up close from the iconic “Shanghai” berms to the massive road gap. The Enduro returns with a series of monster alpine stages starting above 2,500 metres, offering endless descents through wild, natural terrain and breathtaking views of the high mountains — all leading up to the legendary Nightfall stage, an illuminated, crowd-filled special under the stars. A true show within the show.

New for 2026, Cross-country Olympic (XCO) and Short Track (XCC) racing will bring high-intensity action to the heart of the event area, with start, feed zone, and finish lines right in front of the grandstands. The natural XC course, already tested at top-level races, includes stunning alpine sections, a rock garden, and iconic features like “The Meteorite” and “La Centrifuga.”

Off the race course, La Thuile invites visitors to explore: from the majestic Rutor waterfalls and the turquoise Arpy Lake, to the old mines, 19th-century forts, and the Little St Bernard Pass with its alpine botanical garden and prehistoric stone circle. Add cozy mountain restaurants, trails for every level, and pure fresh-air relaxation — the full alpine experience awaits.

If you missed La Thuile in 2025, don’t make the same mistake twice.
